At DBR & Sons Roofing, we have over 20 years’ experience installing and refurbishing high-quality flat roofs that are made to last. We’re firm advocates of torch-on felt roofing, which is an extremely effective method of providing your roof with a guaranteed watertight finish without the huge costs.

How does it work?
Our three layer Torch-on System involves welding layers of high-performance felt using a modern hot flame torch.

The first layer comprises of a 2mm thick underlay (base) layer which is torched to the decking. We then apply a 2mm thick underlay to the base layer again using a gas torch. Finally, we apply a 4mm thick mineral finish to complete the process.

There are various colours of mineral finish available including timber decking options. We’re happy to talk you through which would be best suited to your personal taste and the style of your home.

What are the benefits?
High-performance felt roofing is ideal for both domestic and commercial flat-roofed buildings. It’s widely considered to be the most cost-effective flat roofing solution, with the added benefit of a long lifespan (up to 20-30 years).

The torching method is speedy and accurate, and it also cancels out the need for hot, smelly bitumen.

DBR & Sons Roofing is fully insured to carry out all hot torch work.

Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP)

Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is comprised of polyester resin and chopped strand mat glass fibres, which are mixed together to form a laminate. GRP fibreglass has become one of the most popular forms of flat roofing systems because it is not only a strong material but lightweight, corrosion and temperature resistant.

How does it work?

GRP consists of thermosetting resins and glass fibres which when bonded together result in a solid fibreglass material. Most fibreglass roofs are guaranteed for 25 years but can last much, much longer if well looked after.
